Miller Lite: Fighting Girls

By Robert H. Kelly
Copyright 2008 TexSport Publications

I cannot remember when I first saw this commercial. In fact, it may have been banned in the USA. I am not sure.

What a shame. It is a great commercial. Watch the looks on the faces of the two girls sitting at the table. Their look is classic.

A commercial is suppose to make you remember the product. This commercial certainly does that.

McDonald's: Winter Olympics

By Robert H. Kelly

McDonald's tried to touch the hearts of the viewers.

This was a good commercial, but they could have left off the snowboarding. Skiing would have been a better sport.

However, I do realize why they did it. Snowboarding is better known to youth that skiing. Notice that he also kicks a soccer ball.

The computer graphics are pretty good in this one.

Bud Lite: Bad Dog

By Robert H. Kelly

Now wouldn't it be nice if there was really a dog like that? I mean, the border collie's owner is such a jerk.

The first time a person sees it, the second dog is so funny! It is so unexpected.

I love it!!!

Budweiser: Clydesdales' Snowball Fight

By Robert H. Kelly

I had not seen this commercial in a while.

It is classic Budweiser.

Budweiser: American Dream

By Robert H. Kelly

This commercial is titled "American Dream." That is what American is made of. People (or in this case a horse) striving for the American Dream.

Yes, it is a bit corny, but again, it is one that I like.

Budweiser: Dogs Separated at Birth

By Robert H. Kelly

This commercial is about two dogs separated at birth.

Think about it. Which one would you like to ride on, the fire truck or the Budweiser wagon?

For me, that's a no brainer.

Budweiser: Dog's Motivation

By Robert H. Kelly

This commercial is from the 2000 Super Bowl. Rex (the dog) is another cute dog in a beer commercial.

Coca Cola: Mean Joe Greene

By Robert H. Kelly

This commercial is without a doubt, the best commercial ever made. It has always been a favorite of mine.

My connection to this commercial is Joe Greene grew up and played his high school ball near where I grew up. I lived in Killeen, Texas in the early 1960s and Greene lived in Temple, playing for Dunbar High School.

Dunbar High School was the black high school in Temple, while the whites went to Temple High School.

He later played college ball for North Texas State University and went to the Pittsburgh Steelers for his professional career.

The Steelers were and always will be my team. My maternal grandparents lived on the same street in Pittsburgh as the Rooney family. If fact, my mother went to high school with Art Rooney Jr.

The Steelers were always my team of choice and when Mean Joe did this commercial, I fell in love with it.

So here it is, in my humble opinion, the best commercial of all time.

Budweiser-Dog Wink

By Chris Price

This comemrcial was first aired during the 2007 Super Bowl. Budweiser always has great comemrcials and this was a pretty good one.

Sports, beer, and dogs. They all three go together.

Miller High Life-Bistro

By Robert H. Kelly

Below is a Miller High Life beer commercial. It was broadcast (at least the first time any of us saw it) at the end of the Houston Astros-Philadelphia Phillies game on HSE on Monday, July 2, 2007.

Although this commercial did not have anything to do with sports, since it was broadcast during a sporting event, we consider it sports related.
